This full-day workshop is for middle managers and high-potential front line supervisors to understand the value and what tools they need to keep the leadership pipeline full and flowing. They will also learn what they need to quit doing so they can better develop others and fulfill their own leadership responsibilities.

Module I: The changing nature of leadership

The purpose of this session is to: Recognize the shift in leadership that is required for success at each level and in today’s world.

Topics that will be addressed:

  • 3 aspects of leadership: work values, time usage and skills.
  • How the requirements change as you move up in leadership.
  • How this applies to the changing needs of today’s workforce.
  • Creating a leadership competency list (observable behaviors) customized for your organization
  • Determining how to you make the shift so you are leading at the right level.

Module 2: Selecting and optimizing your teams.

The purpose of this session is to: Clearly define strengths and deficiencies of your current organization and develop a plan to expand your team’s capabilities.

Topics that will be addressed:

  • Identifying leadership promotability and potential.
  • Creating development plans with your employees.
  • Overcoming delegation blocks.

Module 3: The fundamental challenges of change.

The purpose of this session is to: Acknowledge and plan for the difficulties the leaders will face when trying to implement what they learn.

Topics that will be addressed:

  • The role of ambiguity in today’s environment
  • The difficulties of implementing change—personal and organizational
  • Creating your own leadership development plan
